Sudbury Local Aid – join the conversation about how we can improve our local community

Sudbury’s local mutual aid group, Sudbury Local Aid, has now reached out to residents asking them to join a conversation on how we can improve our local community, as we shift to the next stage of the pandemic. To get involved in the conversation, please join the dedicated Facebook group and get in touch to suggest ideas – and please continue to reach out if you want to volunteer or suggest activities.

Since we set up Sudbury Local Aid on 14 March, we’ve been inspired by the local community’s response. Thanks to the outstanding work of local residents, everyone in Sudbury is able to get help when they need it, and nobody need go through this crisis alone or in isolation.

As we move to the next stage of the pandemic, local residents are now starting to ask about how we can build on this success. We need to ensure we harness this community spirit, improving our area and building a stronger community when we evenually emerge out of this pandemic.

As a first step, a dedicated Sudbury Local Aid Facebook Group has now been set up so we can all have a community-wide conversation about what we can all to together. People can also suggest ideas in the WhatsApp group or by getting in touch directly at

We can’t shy away from the fact that this pandemic has had a tragic and devastating impact on many families and communities. But it has also brought communities together, and shown how much we can all achieve together. So if you feel you have ideas to offer or time to volunteer, or if you just want to be part of the conversation, please do reach out and join in!
